Person in charge of protecting personal information

Watts Unlimited Inc. is responsible for the information collected on this site. For any question or request, write to the person in charge of protecting personal information:

What we collect

  • Service and quote request forms: name, company, job title, email, phone, details about your installation or project, and attached documents.
  • Site assistant: the questions you ask and the latest messages of the conversation.
  • Language preference: a cookie and your browser’s local storage remember the language you chose.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider records connection data (IP address, browser, pages requested) needed to run and secure the site.

The site uses no audience measurement or advertising tools.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your request, prepare a quote or schedule service.
  • To follow up on our relationship with your company.
  • To answer your questions through the assistant.
  • To protect the site against abuse and automated submissions.

We do not use your information for other purposes without your consent, and we do not sell it.

Who it is shared with

  • Netlify, our hosting provider, receives and stores forms before they reach the Watts team. Its servers are located in the United States.
  • An artificial intelligence provider located outside Canada processes the messages sent to the assistant to write its replies. Do not enter personal information in the assistant; use the forms instead.

This information is therefore communicated outside Quebec. Before doing so, Watts assesses the privacy factors and binds its providers by contract, as the law requires.

How long we keep it

Requests are kept as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted or anonymized, subject to legal retention requirements.

The site does not keep conversations with the assistant: the displayed history disappears when you reload the page.

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to received requests is limited to the Watts staff who need it to handle them.

Your rights

  • Access the information we hold about you and obtain a copy, including in a structured, commonly used technological format.
  • Have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected.
  • Withdraw your consent and ask for your information to be deleted.
  • File a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge above. We respond within 30 days.

Confidentiality incidents

If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, Watts notifies the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned. Watts also keeps a register of incidents, as the law requires.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published on this page with its update date.
